Churchill is the current mascot for the Winnipeg Sea Bears, Winnipeg's CEBL team. In 2023 he was voted CEBL Mascot of the Year by fans. He is named after the town of Churchill, Manitoba, and in turn John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough.
Churchill is a polar bear wearing a regular Sea Bears jersey. He wears the number 34.
Churchill can generally be found being a problem during games, having been ejected once from a game for public indecency. He made his entrance on May 27, 2023 by rappelling from the ceiling of the Canada Life Center. Allegedly, Churchill can do a backflip.
